    The key responsibility of the (Merchandise) Demand Planner, Kids is to plan/forecast unit buys based on historical analysis and execute orders by size.  The Demand Planner will work closely with the Buying and Merchandise Planning teams to understand and execute departmental strategies.


    • Initiate assortment planning process in collaboration with buying partners
    • Collaborate with Buying and Merchandise Distribution Planning Director / Manager to develop and execute style level unit sales plan and recommend inventory investment and flow
    • Work with Merchandise Planner to reconcile style bottoms up to top down financial plans
    • Provide necessary analysis in preparation for key meetings, participate in special projects, and conduct ad-hoc analysis as needed
    • Responsible for optimizing size buys and packing strategies
    • Utilize quarterly business correctable analysis to provide insights for missed opportunities for business unit
    • Evaluate current business environment in partnership with the Buying team to identify opportunities to maximize over-performing styles and corrective actions to exit under-performing styles.
    • Recommend and execute style level receipt shifts based on performance


    • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or related experience
    • 1 to 2 years of Retail merchandise planning/allocation experience required
    • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
    • Proven ability to problem solve, identify opportunities, and implement improvements
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced ever changing work environment as well as a collaborative team atmosphere.
    • Combination of strong analytical and communication skills
    • Advanced technical skills including Excel, Access, Data Warehouse Systems, and Makoro or other Planning Systems experience
